Trending celebrity styles you must try

Must read

Since time immemorial, society’s movers and shakers have been at the forefront of driving the hottest fashion trends. Celebrities have front row seats at both the retail and luxury end of the clothing markets and play a huge role in what’s hot and what’s not in our wardrobes.

We take a look through some of the most influential names and faces and the styles they’re flying the flag for this winter.

Hailey Bieber – 90s Style

Hailey really leans into the 90s aesthetic in her latest campaign for the sports brand Fila, donning oversized pants, chunky sneakers and puffer jackets. Away from the red carpet glamor that she is known for, the model is adept at making comfy styles look effortless yet never slouchy.

The look also happens to be one of the rare crossovers that is hot for both men and women. The men’s bubble coat is one of the most enduring staples of the past thirty years, with modern materials – think metallic reds and blues – and twists on the classic silhouette adding a contemporary angle. Complement your puffer with distressed skinny jeans and boxfresh white sneakers to complete the look.

Armani White – Coordinated Ensembles

The TikTok sensation known for his hit “Billie Eilish” was recently snapped at the MTV EMA Awards in Düsseldorf, Germany, sporting a matching tan leather trouser and backpack combo with repeating MCM branding. Just one month earlier the Philadelphia rapper performed alongside hip hop hall of famer NORE in an unmissable head to toe canary yellow outfit including straitjacket and sweatpants.

A$AP Rocky – The Suit

It might seem contrarian to mention a style that has perhaps been around longer than any other currently worn – the uniform of the workplace that many of us can’t wait to be rid of when we get home – but the humble suit is making a big comeback. To celebrate his 34th birthday, ASAP Rocky stepped out with his partner Rihanna in a tonal black two piece by Celine Homme with white shirt, black tie and classic matte black Oxford footwear.

A well fitted suit can be really set off by the right pair of shades to make no mistakes that you’re not on company time. And since suits are often in muted tones, it’s a great chance to rock a statement watch or some head turning cufflinks.

Leslie Odom Jr. – Pastel Tones

At the premiere of Glass Onion – the new installment in the Knives Out mystery franchise – one of the stars, Leslie Odom Jr. wore a flowy, layered Dolce and Gabbana co-ord in eggshell blue, complete with breezy pants and scarf, and subtly stole the show. Admittedly, these outfits sit firmly in the special occasion category but you’re sure to make an impact when every item works in harmony.

You can achieve the effect with other pastel tones too; soft yellows, greens and even blush pinks are a great addition to otherwise monochrome wardrobes – sometimes dubbed the candy color phenomenon. Try mixing and matching your hues if you’re really feeling brave.

Winston Duke – Black Leather Jacket

At the other end of the spectrum, the lasting, sleek and futuristic look that has been around since The Matrix apparently inspired everyone in fashion in 1999 shows no sign of going anywhere – Balenciaga’s 2022 collections still look like extras from the original movie. Winston Duke – who plays M’Baku in the movie – chose a thigh length leather jacket with tied belt over a loose black roll-neck for his outfit at the New York screening of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Opaque metal framed, round sunglasses complete the cyberpunk look which was cleverly softened by tailored slacks. A fantastic selection of vegan leather material alternatives are now available if you want to reduce the environmental impact of your clothes.
